Just arrived

I have had several -- the G400's are great --- they are all decent-- just depends on what you want --
BRand new G400 Pro is 350.00

Are the Epi SG’s worth taking a look @?

I have a few Epi LP’s that just rock, and for the $ they sound really good to me....
I had 2 of them Trident.
The wine red got a SD JB in the bridge, the white one had EMG’s
The white one was in D standard, if yo do decide on the G400 go used you can find deals quick and often 860763A7-EFF6-41E3-A045-3FB880A061AB.jpeg6BAA5469-389B-423D-B7A3-8DF469469AFA.jpeg

My epi SG's have always been really good work horses. and they have improved their electronics since the early 2000's. The pickups actually sound pretty good and great for everything. The necks on them, at least the ones i have feel like baseball bats which i think is the only real complaint but very good guitar for whatever your needs. I'd recommend going to your local store and trying it it to see if it feels good to you.

Those are sweet!

I agree the QC of Epi now is not half bad, my EPI LP is proof....I like it alot...
I will have to hit a place where I can grab one...The baseball bat neck might not fit me though, after all I am spoiled with the necks on my Ibby’s...They are just right for me, although the Epi LP is a tad bigger, I can use it just fine....I think my hands would not agree with the baseball bat size...
I just gotta find an SG with a neck I can use well, cause I probably will not put it down if I find one..

If I remember correctly the SG’s neck is quite similar to the LP’s

And they may of changed them, my goth is early 2000's which was when their electronics were sub par and the custom while newer i think that was before the epiphone sg pro when they first started introducing the push pull coil split pots. So, its definitely worth trying out to see if you like it or not. I usually see them at pawn shops or my guitar tech has one or two for sell used.

You may wish to join the MOTM crew and try some out.

Good point about the Epiphone pickups. I've actually been impressed with the tone of the newer Epiphone pickups.

I just put a set of Epiphone HB6N's in my black Les Paul. Got them from Stratosphere and they measured around 12k neck and 14k bridge.

Very well balanced tone. Every bit as good as my 498T/496R combo.

The pups in my Epi plus top pro are not half bad, @ least to my ear they pop very well....
Compared to my LP honestly I cannot tell much difference...But to some I am sure there is a world of difference...

For me they work well, I just think if I added an SG to my stable I will have a well rounded corral...

I bought a 2016 SG T Series. Great guitar, but it had a shorted bridge pickup (brand new) so I swapped in a 57 Classic Plus and a wire harness from Tone Man.
