”the sun shinning on the bay”

Visiting a BIL & SIL, this is the view from their living room. The white building in the foreground is the Claremont hotel, and the bridge is the new SF Bay bridge. Off in the distant on the right is the Golden Gate.

On the down side, I won’t be touching a guitar for 10 days :run:

Tomorrow the FIL and I drive to Lake Almanor (google it) for 8 days to get one of their homes ready for sale. It’s in the high Sierras (5000 ft) out in the middle of nowhere. It’s a very cool area, rich in logging, gold mining and trains.

you realize -- if FIL has a wood chipper accident ---- this thread is going to reflect POOOOORly yes?

FIL is way cool. We get along great. He recently bought me the “The Birth of Loud” book. Great read, it covers the story of Leo Fender and Les Paul from the 40s until they passed. Lot’s of good stories in it, highly recommended.

I have it, great book!

I love the new section of the Oakland Bay Bridge.
The old cantilever span did not do justice to the setting.
The new cable stay span is spectacular in it's own right and
easily measures up to the other spectacular spans in the vicinity.

San Francisco/Oakland/Marin and NYC have
the best bridge collections in the world.
No other city even comes close.

The bridge is a masterpiece of architecture.

And, as a plan B since no guitars, I worked out some riffs on this. Ever heard Ain’t talking about love on a piano :ROFLMAO:
