Mostly depressing for me. I come from a family where we are able to speak our minds without getting mad or resorting to name calling if we can't get our point across.

This is what many millenials I know ask me -- and point to the fact the problems are the same----- decades after decade nothing changes -- the names -- the $ amounts-- the diversions--but nothing -- really changes--

Cell phones, specifically smart phones and social media have certainly changed things. And not for the better. We've lost an entire generation and are starting to work on the next one.

Me too! They weren't so bad when they were just mobile telephones, but now it's a disaster! Smart phones are making dumb people...

I watched a Diane Sawyer bit on TV about how badly they are affecting very young kids, I'm talking 5 and under. It not only showed
how the phones were bad for the kids, but how much neglect was given to the poor kids by their parents who were always "On"...
 
I carry a flip phone.
You can make emergency phone calls with it.
It also takes pictures because I couldn't get one that didn't.

Well, it's a magical flip hone that can take a picture of itself
which means it can be in 2 places at once ! All you need is
a flat magical mirror thingy gizmo photographic accessory.

I didn't get a cell phone until 2002. My girlfriend got it for me because I never answered my phone. I hate them. They spy on you.
