So Anyway...

So anyway, starting tonight, I have begun to insist that my pinky act like a reasonable finger, just like the rest of them. This means that that the insolent little monster must place itself where directed (most frequently, on a string), rather than just engaging in semi-accurate flailing about. I am not certain of the consequences of its disobedience, but I have reminded it that I have, on many occassions, cut off my nose to spite my face.

Good for you. Show it who's boss. Although, I will note that Clapton doesn't use his pinky for soloing.

That is a very good point. I will try to do the same - good advice. (I mostly use the ring finger when past the 15the fret (especially on lowE,A,D strings) due to the disobedience of the pinky.)

So anyway....

My air conditioning went out at the house yesterday.

The tech is supposed to be here on Monday.

Fortunately, I have a maintenance contract on the system, but some parts aren’t fully covered.

So we’ll see what happens...

That's gorgeous, Robert.

Thank you, Man...I didn't do the same level of work as you did. I sub-contracted with B.Hefner for a lot of operations, like using CNC to determine bridge/nut/fret locations. After screwing up bridge post placement on one guitar "by eyeball" I started having those precise operations performed for me.

Thanks for saying nice things, but your guitar is gorgeous and whatever works for you. I'm not trying to do production guitars. I just do it for the pleasure it brings me and the sense of accomplishment .

So anyway, some observations at the guitar store today.

- I played to early year 2019 Gibsons...an LP and an Explorer. They were marked down to make roon for the new line. Both guitars failed to acheive low action on the high E side, even with the ABR bridge all the way down on that side. It was high enough that I do not think a releif adjustment would be sufficient to get it where I like it, and it persisted beyond where releif is relevant (past fret 15, and to a lesser extent, past fret 12). I personally think a guitar should be able to go so low that it is unplayable so you can work up from there

- The Michael Kelly guitars looked and played incredible. Truly a great value in the $ 600 price range new
