You're right. Then he was making steel sound like nylon. I need to dig into that.

Oops - this Crossroads concert was much more recent, so he will have used a piezo bridge pickup. In 1969 he probably did use a normal acoustic.

I have been looking at the parlo(u)r sized Cordoba C10. This seems to have a lot of bang for the buck and it is widely available on the used market
