So anyway. I had my last guitar lesson today until October. So had a surprise by my Instructor. He said do you know how to play Thunderstruck, I said AH no? I think this one would be a good one for you. Hmm ok so he gave me a crash course and tabbed it out for me WOW!! I said this will definitely give me lots to practice over the Summer months including my other stuff !!:blink::D He is a great Instructor! Just luv it when he and myself do a liitle Jammin It's Fantastic! and gives me a lot of encouragement.
 
So, anyways - I wanted some OD bluesy crunchy luvin' and maybe a bit of classic punk from time to time, maybe also with a few onboard easy effects, so I bought a $200 Marshall MG30gfx. It was lost on route, so I thought wtf and bought a 20w Marshall Origin and some dirt, delay and reverb pedals... Just got a text that the MG30 has cleared customs and should be with me on Sunday, so...

1) I'm not sure how I'm gonna sell this to the wife.

2) There's gonna be a SS vs tube thread and an cheap onboard effects vs a pedalboard effects thread...

Now, do you reckon I should place them next to each other or stack the Origin on the flat top of the MG30?
 
I have kept her in the loop... So, the truth, or a very close version of it, will be the way forward. I'll probably not keep both, so the MG will have to be impressive to stay because I like the Origin.

The Keeley reverb/tremelo will turn up on Monday too, both while I'm at work, so she'll have to take them in, so she'll be raging by the time I get home... :cautious:

Having said that, she did spend $100 on her hair last night, so that's half the MG right there; maybe I'll offer to pay for that as a compromise?

I've been coming home to piles of boxes that came in the mail lately too. My wife hasn't complained, but yesterday she said "you better be selling something!"

I think I will also do a thread on my views on Pedalboard vs Modeler...
