So I Decided to Build a Pedal (Collection) Board...

Great work, Sp8ctre - really nice work, looks great. How do you find the power supply working for you?
(I nearly went for the 1-spot, but decided MXR in the end just because Ive had quite a lot of MXR bits and pieces, and they've always been top notch.

Now's the challenge of getting them all working as you want when you want... &, good luck getting the Katzenkonig working with other pedals if you get one (I can get it sounding great with the amp boost and everything else, especially compressor, turned off).

Last question, what's your very favourite pedal on the board.

The Biyang Chorus

The name alone says to me that won't be staying on your board... :cautious:

You may like the phasing before the dirt.

I always found phasors with fuzz really difficult unless super high volume - tried for ages to get some Smashing Pumpkin sounds at bedroom levels (using an MXR phaser and EHX fuzz) - gave up...

OMFG! Just spent an hour with the pedal board and the Peavey cranked to small venue levels and damn am I HAPPY! Don't call me though...I can't hear well right now!

ALL the pedals work well together in any combination I choose! Anywhere from just a single pedal to everything on the board!

Nothing sounds bad or out of whack. I do get some strange, but good sounds from the Obscura and it put the amp into an infinite feedback loop a time or two!
But, it was still super cool! I had to unplug the pedal once to stop the amp from continuously looping...

I removed the D-Seed II and the Chorus because I am short on power connections and I need a couple splitters. The D-Seed is a duplication of other pedals anyway...

I highly recommend the MojoMojo if you are looking for a real nice bit of crunch without too much heavy distortion!

This is my first real stab at a nice pedal board and it's very satisfying! I still have two...well three now incoming...the two mentioned above and now this. Hopefully I can slow down and enjoy what I have...

The Power Supply works great and it is truly isolated from one output to the next. Just wish it had 10 outputs instead of 8.

All the pedals get along in any combination!

Favorite pedal from first play is the Keeley Compressor because it enhances pretty much everything on the board.

Most fun pedal is the Obscura Delay because it can make some truly crazy noises.

Biggest surprise the MojoMojo very sweet crunch and I an not a distortion lover in my playing.

Moved the Lillian and it still sounded good, but I like the original order best for now.

Compressor is going to be an always on pedal for me I believe. It just makes everything come to life...

loves me some scuba tanks............................well used to .............. :(

then ---- depression set in...................

That is quite amazing. I can't get three pedals to work together... If you want a challenge then get a fuzz and a phaser and put them after the compressor!

It is a nice PSU with good reviews, but I kinda liked the MXR options for similar money:

(Ironically, I don't need all 10, but I thought it doesn't hurt to have extra space to move into...).

Nice. Keeley is supposed to be top notch for compressors (of which they're are so many types and styles).

Yeah, that looks lots of fun. I had two versions of the TC delay which has many standard and many whacky delay options, and had lots of fun with them at first, but didn't find anything usable in the long term compared to other delay/modulation options I had at the time.

Seems like you've done a great job here, Sp8ctre, much better than I'm doing!

I'm sure much of it was luck added to the research I've done. I did a LOT of knob tweaking and found it best to set the pedals up individually
before trying to run them together. Then add them in one at a time and tweak some more. I doubt all ever use them all at once, but it's nice
to know I can get a tolerable sound in most any combination!

Here are the pedals I'm still currently looking at. Won't buy another anytime soon, but these are on my watch list...

So...How Much does a quality board with name brand pedals cost??? TOO Much...I paid $1399 for a Brand New Line 6 Helix. I paid $1800 for a Brand New Kemper Profiler.

...and at full price from Sweetwater my board is at $2106.57. The modelers may just be the right way to go if you are not a Tube Amp Disciple...

My final pieces have arrived and some items were removed and some added. I still need to test things again with the new pedals...

That looks great - nice job. I am very jealous, in fact I hate you (or myself, maybe the wife or the dog, not sure...).

Yeah, these pedals sure do add up; my little 5 piece board would be over $1000 - pedals are sneaking little things, they look like a nice cheap purchase, but once you get a few you realize that you could have bought that Mesa or a new Gibson...

SO TRUE! I love the board and I'm happy with it, but damn, it cost more than a nice SG I been looking at...

Rabbit Hole?
I prefer the WHOLE BUNNY ;)
