So Anyway...

So anyway, the Marshall MG30 I bought due to the SS craze here is somewhere between Germany & my apartment; 1 month and counting...

A DHL investigation is underway which should conclude within 60 days - I take this to mean they'll do nothing, hope it gets scanned somewhere in a 60 day period so they know where it is, and if not they'll apply to their insurers. I was kinda looking forward to a true SS v tube shootout although I suspect the wife might not be pleased to see two of them sitting next to each other. :D

In 2002, I bought a brand new Marshall MG50RCD for students. It is a fabulous amp and dead quiet. My Mom refuses to return it!!!! LOL!!!

Carriers take such a hands-off approach to problems of their making, as if they are relegated to just watching. The most frustrating comment is when you call and you are told that they have the same info you have online, nothing more. Really, you can't call anyone at your own company?? Ridiculous

You're right, of course. I'm ok as I have the Origin and just got this amp for fun and plan to sell it on unless it blows me away, but imagine if some kid had ordered it for his birthday as an only amp - could be a bit soul destroying...

I once ordered a pedal from a big US company, but foolishly gave my old Thai address - I noticed when the pedal was late and I'd checked, but despite letting everyone know time after time, nothing, pedal 'lost'. money gone, nobody could do anything... It was my fault, but it would have been nice to have had some customer support at some stage, from the shop, from the carrier, from the Thai postal service - the pedal must've ended up somewhere and been scanned. And, these companies have insurance, but they all denied responsibility and blamed me or each other...

When using USPS, you MUST buy the insurance. They maintain governmental immunity for their negligence...ie, they cannot be sued for mishandling or losing your package

So anyway, just did an open mic.

After waiting and waiting to jam, I was informed we can only perform two songs. So we did two songs. I took out the pause between the 2nd and 3rd song on our list, thus creating one song.

My 3, I mean 2 songs were..
Deep Purple - Black Night
The Cars -Bye Bye Love ' Grand Funk -American Band

We followed mostly acoustic sets. Announcing that we were about to change the stiff atmosphere. We did just that.

After, The owner said we can jam there anytime, because people got live and started ordering drinks. I'm not sure if that was a compliment, but I know we Rocked it!! :dood:

Nice work, Bocc69.

We really try to have a diverse setlist. We do a lot of Judas Priest, Zeppelin and Sabbath....but I like to mix things up.

Here's our recent adds...

Nuthin but a good time - poison
Uncle Tom's Cabin - warrant
Fantasy - aldo nova
Mr. Brownstone ' GNR
Fall to Pieces - Velvet revolver
Gimmie all your loving- zz top
Breaking the chains - dokken
Wicked sensation - lynch mob
Hard as a rock - ac/dc

Nice additions to your set. We only do one on that list.....Aldo Nova Fantasy. I think it's a killer song. I love jamming that lead.

Hard as a Rock is awesome. I really wish we could do it. BUT, as of now the singer won't do any AC/DC songs....and we know it's ALL about making the singer happy!!!;)

In our last group, we had to drop everything that was performed in E-flat, because the bass player wouldn't drop tune his instrument...

I love "Fantasy" and always have. It's one of my favorite solos. I always double track the solo when I'm recording it on a demo or rehearsal track....

I burned this double-tracked (left & right channel) solo for a local band's demo.

Listen to Fantasy Solo - Gibson Les Paul (with Kevin's Green Keys)Played "Full Kevin Paul" by Von Herndon #np on #SoundCloud

I am glad to see your doing better with the band situation, I remember back when you were going to an audition and were getting flak for not having the image gear? As I said then and now is that shouldn't matter, the talent should. I know I suck and have had some great gear compared to people I know who can play circles around me with out thinking about it.

Hey! Thank you, Rob V.... and yes, that happened where I was told I was gonna need a Gibson Flying V to give the band the appropriate image. Needless to say, we disagreed on that point and I used my 1987 Squire converted to H-H through a Line 6 HD75 head and twin Jackson 4x12 cabinets for our first major "post apocalyptic "outdoor gig.

Despite our disagreements, I was saddened to learn he died at his console on February 4th while mixing songs for our debut CD.

Damn well that's a crazy situation! Sad to hear it but glad your doing good with it.
