Yeah, this isn't "surface mounts" but what I see from your pic is that some of the components might be able to be removed and replaced from the "surface" side of the pcb… uhm, maybe. But look at the boxy blue 1000pF cap and those push button switches and the only way to mess with them would be to get under the pcb.

Right you are...#37 would be surface mount, right???

The amp's gain is halfway. EQ's are just about flat. Resonance control is maxed (This surprised me...). V30 speaker (A very midrange speaker). Boosted by a TS type pedal's level control with no gain and flat tone control. Remember that TS circuit type pedals are notorious for barely boosting the low frequencies... less mud!

Try the same formula. Maybe you can borrow a TS type of pedal from somebody. The V30 speaker might be a key ingredient, but not sure how it compares to your amp's Reaper.

Yes, that's possible...I would imagine the Reaper 55Hz would have tighter bottom end, according the Vaughan Skow at WGS anyways...

Can't argue with the fact that he is getting quite a chug with absolute clarity...
 
Sysco, I see you mention V30's.

Forgive me if my brain is muddy on your point. BUT are you telling Robert that using a V30 is a common tool in the high gain user's arsenal?
From a number of video demos of these high gain type players, many I saw did use V30 loaded cabs. My 1960 has G12 75 Black Back speakers which have their nay sayers or fans all depending...

Just got an email from the video maker. He's on Ultra Gain with Tone Shift in....

Nope. I was telling him to notice the fact that a V30 is being used in the demo, and that V30s are very aggressive on the mid range.

I can understand why these speakers with certain amps, sound so good in a loud, hard rock environment. In that video that RH posted, I wish the demo included some lead-style playing on both pickups!
