Rig Rundown--- Tab Benoit

Tab Benoit has been around a long time, and is undoubtedly an insanely gifted guy, but this music does absolutely nothing for me. I really can't listen to blues for more than a few seconds any more, it just seems like more of the same recipe over and over, just cooked with slightly different spices. It gets boring in a big hurry to me.
 
too bad, I been enjoying that concert for the last couple hours------ while working -- .......toe tapping all along....

Not sure what it is. I definitely went through a "phase" where I sought out all the blues masters to become familiar with the source code of so much of what I listened to, and along the way took in a lot of contemporary blues. But I quickly got to a point where the sheer repetition of it all just became boring as all hell. Really, the only blues guy I still listen to is Junior Kimbrough as his droning, unregimented style separates itself from the rest of the pack and is something truly unique in music.

Me too...all the kings of the delta blues...even as far back as Blind Lemon Jefferson, but you are exactly right, the repetition just got to me after a while...
