I've been craving yet another fuzz pedal. The TC Electronics Rusty Fuzz is loosely based on the silicon Fuzz Face. It has a tone knob and seems like it can get "velcro fuzz" tones. It seems to like humbuckers more than single coils. It's that or a silicon Fuzz Face. What do you think. They are both about 50.00 (ff used). I've been wanting a silicon ff. I love my germanium one. Has anyone tried a Rusy Fuzz? Thoughts??

Nevermind. I'll wait for a local GC to have it used, 30 00 or less. Many used go for 25.00. For that, I can't lose. I'm in no rush.
 
I've had quite a few TC pedals and never much liked them; well made, fun at first, but nowhere near the sound quality of a Wampler or Catalinbread, imho. If you like fuzz then if you don't have a Wampler Velvet Fuzz you're missing out.
 
There is a list of fuzz pedals I'd love to have that I just can't afford. The terminal fuzz, cloven hoof, and velvet fuzz. I checked, the Velvet is 120.00 used. That's way above my budget. I have to stick to cheaper crap because that's what I can afford. I haven't giged in years. It's now just a hobby. Sometimes I can get a nice used pedal at a cheaper price. I got the MXR super bada$$ variac fuzz that I love. I really should stop buying gear. I bought great stuff when I had my last job. I was making 3 times what I'm making now. The damn cable company got greedy and closed call centers in the US (I was a corporate trainer). I have a Bachelor's in science, a Masters in education, and the credits for a Phd. I have to live within my means now. I wish I could get the Velvet Fuzz.

^ I get where you're coming from. It's tough with all the expenses and outgoings, but you gotta live and have a bit of happiness too.

The EHX fuzz'z are great and not a lot of money; I had a double muff once, but that's another story... :D
 
I love my Little Muff. I have been looking at the other flavors: metal muff, etc. I really like EHX pedals in general. You're right.
