Good evening from Korea and goodnight.
Been using the NUX drum machine looper, and it's good; so far, I am choosing a drum beat, use the tap tempo to give the speed I want, then lay down a very easy A major 12 bar blues, over that lay another dub ontop with a simple lick which connect the major scale with a minor pentatonic:
- Im just about there (pretty slow at this point, but just trying to play clean and have a little bit of feeling. Lastly, which I'll be doing an hour or two of practice everyday this week is adding in a bit of soloing in minor pentatonic boxes and making sure I can easily move between the major and minor scales while sounding ok. I know this is really easy stuff for you fells, but it's pushing the boat for me... Once I get the new amp and then I'll try to record with the LP special with stock pickups, then the LP with the Bare Knuckle/VooDoo pickups and then the SG junior and see what you fellas think about the sound.
I'll also record it on the Yamaha THR10 and the new amp, so you can see what you prefer (not sure how I can record from the new amp though because it's a basic ss - maybe the headphone output with speaker simulation can be taken into the mac mini directly or through the THR10 or back into the NUX line input then out of the NUX USB to computer). Alternatively, the wife has a couple of low/mid end mics that might be ok. Or I might just have to buy one of those all in one thingies like this:
Anyways, the looper/drum machine is doing eggsackery what I'd hoped for - increasing my practice time (I do like a drum beat to help with my timing).
