Fretboard Radius

Has anybody taken a guitar and decreased the fretboard radius?
Not sure if I asked correctly, I mean smaller radius / tighter curve.
I imagine remove frets, remove rosewood from edges leaving middle untouched. Cut grooves deeper at reduced edges and re fret.
Some projects grow when they should be put to bed! :unsure:
 
No. But, don't forget, you'll also need to replace the bridge (or adjust the saddles if they're adjustable) and file the nut slots to match the new fretboard radius.

The nut is a bit obvious.
The bridge to my mind was is vague. When one buys a new bridge (to my limited knowledge) you aren't asked for the radius. I figured if you actually change an extreme amount then filing the outer saddles as you do to a nut would be the answer.

You could file the saddles. That is true. That may be all you have to do.

But the fine print in the specs for TOM-type bridges usually lists the radius, such as 12" or 14", etc.
 
But the question is why would you do that ?
You don't like the way it plays ?
Buy another guitar with the right radius, would be my obvious choice.
 
^^ Agreed. If you don't like the radius, get a guitar that you do like the radius.
 
i got Fender radius guitars and some with the Gibson radius and im not sure which ones i like better. plus all the necks are a little different but as the Col Mustard says you can get used to each one.

First up, I'm only considering the possibility of a radius change.
The reason, the guitar doesn't owe me much, it's a test bed for my education.
12" now 7.25" would be the target.
I've had good results with what I've done so but I suspect this may be a little too much.
