I've had a Fender 78 Vibro Champ since 1995. I just picked up a made in Brea "black knob" Champ 12. It has the original speaker and just needed the footswitch. I have one fortunately. I'll post pics coming up. I like running the clean channel on the second ( less gain ) input. When the 6L6 warms up it has a clear clean tone. I engage the mid boost ( treble pulled out ) which further enhances the tone. From the little bit I was able to read up on these, I believe this is an early one.
 
I was just upstairs and the battery for the camera is dead. I'm charging it right as I post this. I promise pics of both amps I posted about above.

I live in Mission Viejo. I live in the old part over close to Marguerite Parkway and La Paz. I have been here since the early 80s but, I grew up in Buena Park back in the 70s.

Full disclosure: Should probably mention the Fender officially belongs to Mrs. IbLive. Came with her when we got married 41 years ago. Parents got it for her one Christmas along with a really crappy electric. Eventually the electric hit the road, but I made sure to hang on to the amp. Really glad we did since it’s a pretty nice amp.
 
I got a dead camera battery right now. Please bare with me and be patient I promise I will post photos of both amps I mentioned. Iblive you were very smart hanging on to that VC. I love mine.

Now I am presuming Robert was born and raised in California, Wav, Sysco and Cat too?
Sp8, DonO, Gball were all transplants. Now anyone who I messed up and said is a Native and wasn't, correct me if I am wrong.

The only thing I have done to this amp is change out the power tube from an Electron Tube made in China 6L6GCR, to a TAD 6L6WGC-STR and it sounds excellent. Yes, I left it in there! The two preamp tubes just say made in China on them. I may put some current production Mullards in there. I don't know if I forgot to mention but I use a foot switch I had already to play it through input two ( about 6 db less gain ). You need the footswitch to run it on the regular channel, when you turn it on it defaults over to the OD channel.
