New Amp Incoming...I Just Had To - Peavey Content!

Did you attach the caster directly to the amp or build a cart for it to ride on?

I just screwed them right to the cabinet.

It’s not made of cheap particle board. I’ve rolled that amp over it’s fair share of parking lots! Making a little cart is a good idea, though.

I did have two issues with it.

Once, I had to resolder one of the effects loop jacks. I just reflowed the solder at the PCB.

The other issue was actually one of the stomp switches in the foot switch.

But, it still works great...and gets very loud!

Ummm...your question got merged with my response...weird!

Y’know, @Robert Herndon , you may want to look into an amp like this.

I haven’t played mine in a long time, but as I recall, in the “Modern” setting, it could handle a palm-muted chug pretty well without sounding flubby.

I just dusted off the 1997 VS265 and while it does need some de-scratching' of the pots and momentary push buttons, it screams and palm mutes in F# are crystal clear. It moves so much air you can see the grillecloth moving. I can't figure out why i thought I needed a new amp.

And speaking of gain...the Russian-Made Genelex Gold Lion T12AX7 is the highest gain producer I could find and there is no limit to how much gain I can dial up.

they sound better live -- you dont get the VIBRATION of the chug with the computer ......youtube compresses it all etc etc-- you will see.....

old USA peaveystuff is hands down the BEST bang for the buck going -- and NOT just the amps ;)

The Peavey has landed, but I'm out in the field! May have to wait until Monday to lay hands on it...:cry:

News Flash! Update SoCal Earthquake blamed for World Trade Center foundation crack...

...this just in it was a Peavey Special 212 to blame. Amp goes to 11 causes structural damage and hearing loss to building occupants!

F@#$ this thing is a MONSTER! I ended up going back to the shop and picking it up...what can I say a man has to play his gear...

This amp looks like New Old Stock! There is little to no signs of use! Just a couple small scuffs on the plastic corner protectors!

How or why anyone would sell these so cheap is beyond me! It is heavy as a mofo though. Sits right on the scale with a tube amp!

Made in the USA Sweetness right here with three channels to love...Clean, Lead and Ultra! You crunch fellas would cream yourselves...

Did I mention I love it?

yep----- welcome to a liberating feeling of fun ---on the cheap

I play mine and I just smile and smile --

same thing I do with all my USA PEavey stuff---- the quality is soooo there at a price that is stupid cheap (makes you Wonder how much PROFIT these other companies are bending us all over for eh? )
