I -- have a RETUBED MEsa ;)

Give or take a few...

In your fingers!

I still don't understand their dynawatt technology. It's like some peak power gets stored in reserve and comes out when you spank your guitar. Told you I didn't understand it!

That's exactly what it is. The circuit stores up a bunch of power in capacitors and its released "on demand" as you dig in. I don't know how it works but I know it does work.

O.K. fdamn it SYSCO -- now ya got me worried about over heating and hurting my amp----

Im going to have to just use the USA Made-- SOLID STATE Transtube PEavey I guess......(wow such HORROR to have 112 SILVERSTRIPE Bandit as "back up" lol) or alternate between the Panama -- the Lil Sexy and the Mesa to give tubes and stuff in each time to cool down!

SO -- I emailed mesa and asked a bunch of questions (he wouldnt tell me where the DYNaWATTS were EITHER! :( ) but he did say -- contrary to other websites--- rumors and VIDEOS-- ont he MESA the "Standby" does cut power (and heat) to the tubes when NOT playing -----

Yes, if you take a break - definitely use the Standby switch, which shuts off the high-current to the tubes.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need assistance in any way. Thanks!

HE also seemed amazed at my "how hot should the amp get after 2 hours of being on" question......which I found ODD -- dont you PRO guys leave these things on for like 3-5 hours at a clip????

There's nothing to worry about. Seriously. I sometimes turn my amps on in the morning and use them off and on throughout the day without ever turning them off, for as much as 8-10 hours at a time. I'll put them on Standby if I'm going to be away for more than 30 minutes but otherwise don't even do that - I just roll the guitar volume down or hit the tuner to mute it.

Its o.k. Im testing the tones of the compression depression through the LIL SEXY 5 watt all tube yumminess created by our own DRUMMOID---I belive it is a TWEED clone "ish" amp-- lovely beastie-- and with the attentuation on the panama cabinet I can CRANK IT and DRIVE The tube -- and get great blues tones with no dirt pedal ;)

That's exactly why I keep the salsa jar handy when enjoying chips and salsa, so more salsa can be released when I really 'dig in.' :-)

ITs really intersting testing these tones---

I forget (because well....yes MESA...) that these little 5 watters
A. PACK A PUNCH
B. no pedal -- IMHO-- has the SAME real sound of a CRANKED volume DRIVEN tube......its so --- just "there"!
C. ROberts getting salsa and cheese dip for all

in a world of MORE is MORE-- the little 5 watt tuber can SURE BE A BALL of FUN!

I've never heard of wide reports of F-30s failing for any reason. You yourself already knew that old tubes were a bit on the worn side. How long were the old power tubes in the amp till you just replaced them?

Well I have had it for---- 6 months or so--- I guess....and Hack had it before me -- some other guys used it to GIG WITH (the horror) poor thing is on retired vacation here in the doom room --- new tubes-- gets dusted daily-- has a cute Hawaiian Girl sitting on it

I have had my Panama 4 or 5 years now---- never even un sealed the back cover original stock tubes in it.......
Same with the Lil Sexy -- 3 years is it Drummoid ?? 2.5 for sure-- same tubes....

I guess I change tubes like I change strings -- -every decade or so needed or not lol

Those poor tubes have been to hell & back.
It's been at least 6 or 8 years since that thing had a whole retube.
Been loaned out, played a couple of all day festivals...
Then I'd just change a preamp tube now & then, whenever it would get microphonic.

It needed the transfusion.

well she is all new now-- and MAN it is so much even betterer !!! the cleans are beyond imagine-- heavenly --
the gain channel is off the hook and the CONTOUR channel is just -- well its INSANE distortion levels beyond human hearing I think -- makes the dogs run ---

HOLY CRAP!!!
8-10 HOURS -- the MEsa customer service guy might have a purple paisley cow if you tell him---he acted like the 2 hours I claimed was like pissing on his mother after stepping over his paralyzed sister to bang his wife
(we get bored on Saturdays in the swamp)

Are you sure that is allowed in Cali??> Are you off gassing some harmful radiation or possibly the PAINT on the tubes that SAYS MESA could -- gas off impurities that MIGHT in concentrated studies be found to POSSIBLY cause acne in rats....maybe....you might want to get that thing tested---

BETTER yet-- gball -- I will save you -- send your Mesa here-- it will be safe -- we lick lead paint and living trailer homes --- it cant hurt us :)
