Does Anyone Use a BASS Amp For Regular Guitar? (Other Than Bassman)

I know a LOT of people use the Fender Bassman. But I'm looking at others...

The reason I ask is because I use a LOT of modelling hardware and software.and my favorite tones come from Ampeg models!

I'm considering buying an Ampeg Amp if I don't go broke paying taxes. Or I may build one?

Thoughts? Experiences?

Please chime in!

Occasionally, I will end up using my bass player's Ampeg V4. It's a great sounding amp, and does exactly what you would expect from an Ampeg. It's loud as hell, clear as a bell, and you can color it any way you want with pedals.

While everyone is searching out SVT amps, the V4 is usually a good economical find when they appear on Craigslist or wherever.

Thanks! It's hard to find YouTube videos of people playing a regular guitar through a BASS amp, but I found a few.

What I found and the people playing have said is just what you said. Loud, Crystal Clear, No Distortion even cranked! I want one!

Ampeg SVT-CL 300-Watt Tube Bass Head is what I think I'll look for...it has SIX 6550 Output Tubes!

I did, for many years, use a Traynor bass head and cabinet for guitar. For metal, it worked great. NEVER could overwhelm the speakers. However, you might find it overly bright clean....

TRIVIA: I have started recording bass parts on my Blackstar ID-Core 100 since it's all direct out anyways!!!

The V4 is nice because it's usually less than half the price of an SVT, and a little easier on the wallet when changing tubes. Tom's SVT is also fun to play out of, but I kind of like the V4 better.

I love my '72 Marshall 1982 Super Bass cab. It has the 55 Hz speakers in it. I keep toying with maybe modding one of my heads, or just try building a JTM kit, but modding it for bass specs.

I'll check out the V4. Less money is always good!

This Boss GE-7 works great on the bass. It allows me to pull some of the 'Boomy-Ness' off the low end and boost the mids slightly...

OR the fact the cleans on these (for 100.00) can produce a low that is not achievable by some other amps---its got CHUG ---
