Revolution - My Version With Vocals

Liked everything but the intro. It sounded like a midi file or something instead of a guitar? Too electronic/digital I guess I would say. Vocals were really nice as was the guitar!

The intro was an experiment with two different guitars played on the same phrase. Then, in the mixdown, I added a 'telephone' effect to one of the guitars. The telephone effect also appears on one of the rhythm guitars...Maybe I can re-do that into???

Much better! Now it sounds like guitars and not a midi synth! You know this is all just my opinion. Hope I'm helping and not offending...

Not at all...like 'telephone' or 'walkie talkie' effect on the rhythm guitar...it's just an experiment!!!!

That intro always sounded like a machine gun going off to me! All the way back in 5th grade when I bought that LP it sounded like that. It's one of my oldest music memories how I just loved that rapid fire guitar sound!
...and then that scream! Man that just grabbed me and made me want to be a rock star. The song really let me down when it slowed...still a great song, but at what...11 years old I just wanted it to keep blazing!

This was also my very FIRST time playing this song, so I ran through it a few times with the key sheet in front of me, then realized the key of 'B' wasn't good for my voice so we dropped it to 'A' and then lit the fuse. All mistakes were left in for your enjoyment... -)

Thanks, Goo...This is a fun song to play and it was fun to be able to do this without having to make it sound a certain way. The drop in tuning will help the vocalist as our set drags out, even if it isn't 100% original...

LOVE that descending riff in 'Helter Skelter'!!!!

I got fairly short fingers so its hard for me to get that galopping rythum after the intro. You got it down Robert true to the song. Its the small little things that are true to this song.

Tell you something...what really made the song sound 'right' to my ears was the 'walkie talkie' (or AM radio effect) that I pasted into the rhythm guitar tracks. It really makes them sound like they are coming out of an old radio!!!
