Ok, so have you ever done something that you really didn't want everyone knowing about????
Well, for me, there are many moments like that, but this one in particular you may find funny. Spectre encouraged me to share this.
First and foremost, to be able to understand what I am going to share, you must watch this short video musical. It contains the F-word ONCE at the very beginning. The rest of the video is totally G-rated.
So, one day, I happened to visit a colleauge at a recording studio in Hollywood for a tour of the facility. After checking in, we were visiting the studios when we heard a loud argument coming from one of the lounges. We eventually learned that a vocalist/voice actor had been hired to perform a re-creation of the audio in the above video for a client who wanted to license a less expensive version (a cover costs less to license than obtaining a sampling license to use part of an original work) for a commercial. The producer and the vocalist had a disagreement and the vocalist walked out.
I chuckled to my colleague and told him that song was easy to do, and he asked me if i knew it. I told him, "Certainly," adding that I am always doing impersonations and silly things with my kids on video and audio. He has a private conversation with the producer, they look over at me and then he motions for me to come with him. We walk into the studio, i sit down and am handed a headset.
They are looking around for a lyric sheet and I told them to just "run the tape. I know this song."
The producer wanted the song done in a "more cartoon-ish voice," so, I cut the parody in one take, much to the amazement of the engineer and the producer. Here is the actual audio file from that recording:
"I'm So Ronrey" Team America Parody
Ironically, this musical "joke" opened the door for me to join the musician's union and thus I began working on a wide array of musical projects.
Hope you guys get a few laughs out of this....
