Bell and Howell. From what I have read Fender was using them during that time at least for a bit. I looked up on the net and came across this info. If I find it again when I get a chance I'll post the info. I have opened up the P and saw the B & H pups in it. I had figured the guy who had it originally ( not my friend Bill I purchased it from ) had changed out the pups. I figured that because he changed the bridge out as well as the gnarled brass pot knobs. I'm surprised this thread has received such attention so far. I'm going to tell my friend Bill to check this post out on his PC.

The Warwick sounded kind of close to the Fenders. I really like the tone of the Ric and the Thunderbird. Thanks for posting, this is a very decent demo. That 79 P is darn close to how mine sounds. I like the way mine sounds better. That is not a bad bass at all. I believe that is also an ash body bass as well. I bet that 79 P has B & H pups inside of it as well.

Chili is the Signature Deleo, the Robert Deleo of STP model? I could not find much on it off the bat.
 
Cat, I will show you if I can find it.

Schecter made a Model T Robert D Sig model of the Model T bass. It came in either Black with White pearloid PGuard or Sunburst with Active EMG's. Then along the way it got passive pups and came in a Blonde and maybe a gold color as well. But I will verify my details and revise as necessary.
