I grew up about 20 miles south of Wisconsin in Northern Illinois. Been to Wisconsin a few times.

To give an idea of how times have changed, when I was in elementary school, the class had a field trip to the Miller Brewery in Milwaukee.

Funny thing is, my hometown was close enough to Wisconsin that you saw nearly as many people wearing Green Bay Packers jackets as you did Chicago Bears jackets.
 
DeFazio-- the portrail of the Italian heritage in the show -- was intersting as MARSHALL was not the original Family name-- Anthony Masciarelli-- (Pennys Father) changed the family name to a more "Americanized" Marshall.
