I said car. But frankly it would depend. If I had an all original 69 Vette. 427 tri-power. Then it be a no brainer. But other than something like that. The car can always be replaced. Guitar I’ve had since early 70s. No

Got my dream guitar--- and my favorite MOTORCYCLE---cars are a necessary evil
Guitars go first. A car is pretty much a necessity.
the question wasnt basic transport-- it was "dream" car vs "dream" guitar

also to consider Dream guitar probably doesn't require
tag--title--tires --oil changes-- up keep --depreciation--and VERY expensive insurance........

so again if I am going to "indulge" --- certainly GUITAR

Just realised I answered this long ago - no dream car, no dream guitar. Both are tools.

For me, my dream guitar/s run 2 ends of the spectrum. Not exactly tools. My first dream guitar is to find and purchase my very first guitar. The amazing, full of mojo and tone 1979 Les Paul Standard I bought way back in '82 and sold in '91 for $400. If my original can't be found it would be Alex Lifeson's ES 345, Ted Nugent's Byrdland, Greeny, The Beast, Rory or SRV's number 1, Billy Gibbons Pearly Gates, Albert King or Michael Schenker's V.

Not that I'm going to sound like any of these players, but to own one of the guitars from my favorite players is the definition of my dream guitar.

Also not a tool, after obtaining my dream guitar, I'd arrange to have that nice hurdy gurdy playing girl be my band mate. She plays nicely and is easy on the eyes.

I am glad you saw my post, Don. I meant to add hurdy gurdy girl " Don likes" but I can't edit on my phone yet.

She's just been commissioned to write the music for a new Amazon series - Carnival Row - starring Orlando Bloom and Cara DeLevigne. So big kudos to her, and I'm glad I could help her a little through Patrreon.

I think many here didn't get the exact extent of the OP's question.

He's stating that you'd still have other cars and other guitars. He's talking about your DREAM car and guitar.

In either case, I'd get rid of the car.

My dream car isn’t made, yet (at least not for commercial production).

My dream car would be a fully electric car with a 300 mile range that can be recharged from solar power, in addition to plug-in charging.

I’d still pick the guitar, though!

My dream car would be a brand new (in production, with available new parts and dealer service) ‘67 Mustang or Impala

I can relate. Have had this for 20 years, a 69 L68.
