NPBD New Pedal Board Day

another not fancy but functional repurposing project. Wood stock from old wall unit.
I didnt take the time to be especially neat, ie I didnt draw placement lines for the screws to line up, etc.
I did drill pilot holes but had some splits in the fiberboard, and counter sink them.
Glued and screwed, it is quite solid.

So far I only put velcro on the tuner.

Which side do you put on the board vs pedal?
I put the fabric side on the board and the plasticy on the pedal.

Man! That's really nice looking!

oh....uhm....no -- that one is 'round for "keepsies" ;) I mean I ONLY Have 2 pedals man ---- 2 guitar pedals---- cant go lower than DIrt and Reverb//////

GOt a multipedal for the bass........dont know HTF to use it---wouldnt know what to do with compression-- or echo on a BASS----but the drum rhythms are nice :)

its this one---(sorry "modeling bass PROCESSOR" -- oooh sounds important!)
cdvbaa1hn7q16gmauqer.jpg

lots of light and numbers and flashing things---- those just make me reach for my hammer--- so I use the drum beats---- and jam --- maybe someday -- if I lose a leg or something and HAVE HOURS to sit in a room and play my knobs I will figure it out---- but---- there is a 98.7% chance that will never happen ............

Where (and what) is the power supply?
It is a 1 Spot. The Soul Food came with its own power supply.
The DIY A/B/Y has a battery- only the LED is powered.
There is a power strip on the floor behind the amp.

I may eventually upgrade to a Donner power brick, currently they are around $40.
I think I made the front part tall enough to mount it underneath.
the 1 Spot does the job well enough but may be adding some noise.

If it is one of the small “wall wart” style 1 Spots, I can almost guarantee it is adding noise. They are switching power supplies, instead of the older style transformer-based supplies.

Noise induced into audio circuits is actually somewhat common with switching power supplies, unless they employ sufficient filtering.

Sometimes, the pedal circuitry, itself, ends up filtering out the noise from the supply. I’ve run into enough noise issues from 1 Spots, which I don’t get from the traditional transformer supplies, that I only use my only 1 Spot for testing; I don't use it on my board.
