I think all of us here have PLAYED-- and OWNED multiple guitars-- be it 3 ---or 31--- or 72 (Ray ) -- no I poke-- I have played by far MORE than 72 --- played that many last year at least!

Rubbed my junk on most of em too!

what?

where?

OH YES the POINT--------------

I am curious (because I have not tried this -- thought I would LOVE too) if you took -- say 35 gold top Gibson 2016 les pauls -- lined them up and played them BACK TO BACK -- same amp -- same settings same player--- would they all sound/feel/play IDENTICAL or would they have different characters????

I know I have played enough Strats in my 50 years to fill at least a Semi truck trailer -- and only TWO are memorable/pleasurable -- and one I own...

are others seeing this trend?>

For me, its all about neck profile, scale and being out of phase....my guitars feel and sound very similar with these characteristics. There are slight differences, but very subtle...

I have laid hands and sticks on closer to 72 Drums than I have guitars. In fact I moved about 15 drums just today so I could make room to do some more remodeling at the girlfriend's house.

iNTERESTING history behind the " How many licks?"
WB Doner came up with the ad.
I went to school with the kids of Eugene Azzam, formerly of WB Doner in Baltimore.

W.B Doner & Co. - Company Profile, Information, Business Description, History, Background Information on W.B Doner & Co.

In 1954 Doner won the account of National Brewing Company, based in Baltimore, and when that firm offered a building for Doner to use, the agency added an office there. It opened in January 1955 and was headed by a new recruit, 26 year-old Herbert Fried. Fried had studied business and marketing, and had worked for several agencies in Chicago before joining Doner. Though National Brewing was the only account in Baltimore for the first two years, the office later began to win work for other clients such as First National Bank.

During the 1960s Doner continued to grow, creating memorable ad campaigns for the likes of Colt 45 Malt Liquor and Hygrade Ball Park Franks. For the latter, the firm came up with the classic "They plump when you cook 'em," slogan, which debuted in 1966. Another notable Doner campaign, for Tootsie Roll, asked the question, "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?" The tagline was introduced in 1968 and used for many years afterwards.

Well i’m gonna conduct my own mini test related to this question. Earlier this year I bought a 1989 35th anniversary CS Strat (367 of 500) with Lace pups and an ebony board. It plays great and has great tone.

Two days ago I bought it’s sibling, 219 of 500 it will be here next week. I’ll be doing a NGD thread :ROFLMAO:
