I'm trying to fix this 2015 Gibson DT SG who ever set up the bridge and nut at Gibson was mentally
unemployed. First I tried to make a copy of my gold hardware 1965 Gibson SG Standard it sounded OK
but would not stay in tune unplayable. Now I got a tone pros nylon bridge and a tusk nut should fix it if not I have a buyer. I'm taking off all the gold hardware have a aluminum historic tail piece.

Nice look'n SG, bummer on the issues. I think the chrome/aluminum/silver type hardware will look much better. But, with that said I'm not a big fan of gold hardware...

Well My 1/1965 built in 1964 SG Standard was one of two with stock gold hardware and in 1959 Gibson made a huge amount of Gold PAF pickups in 1960 most Gibson guitars had nickel plated PAF pickups So My 1965 SG has 1959 PAF pickups so I like the Gold.

I'm a fan of gold too, but strangely none of my current guitars have gold, not even my LP Custom since it's a Silverburst.

As far as that DT SG goes, I know it is in good hands to be corrected.

I also heard good things about these DT's in an overall consensus, generally. Like you said, maybe the assembler was mentally not all there.
Although I am seeing a few things. If I am not mistaken, the DT's didn't have a Trem. They were stop tail plus the cosmetic tail plate.
That gold adorned one has a trem.

There is a story or link between the 2 I am sure. I notice your 64 has one, but like you said, maybe the nut is an issue and the Tusq will help. Maybe the Tuners are not great as well.

Wow - thats a 64/65 SG, nice freak'n SG to own, man...
I certainly wouldn't be turning my nose up to it due to gold finishing.
I'm not anti gold hardware. I just prefer chrome over the other finishes (preferably).

Wow...gorgeous guitar you have!!! Is that inlay on top of the guitar by the vibrato unit made of wood or something else? A custom job?
