Trying to knock out this Strat H-H conversion with what I have on hand. I got a brown tortoise shell pickguard, but can't picture that with black open-bobbin humbuckers and knobs...thoughts???

This looked interesting...

In my opinion, which I am glad to share freely...

A tortoiseshell pickguard gives a guitar a very “country” appearance.

I agree...here's wwhat it looked like back in the 2002-2005 era:

It's just trying to source what I have on hand, but I agree, the look would be better served by engine turned aluminum or black...which is the current color combo, as shown below:

A couple of my Strats I did the P90 or humbucker thing. I am turning them or the better Strats back into upgraded Strats.
I should have learned a lesson when I realized my Tele Custom was a cheap copy of a Les Paul. It was not a telecaster.

EXACTLY how I felt about the Squire one I had -- it was JUST a flat top Lester!

You of all people will understand this. The only Strat I never changed is my T30 Peavy. There are not many around to compare it to and being that it is old and pristine condition I found no reason to screw with it. The others I found ways because I see there are so many ways to improve.

I decided to go with this genuine Fender pickguard. Its different, plus its aluminum, so I don't need a separate RFI shield and it has my preferred rounded pickup openings, which fit better with open bobbins...

Finally found the specs!!!!

Clear anodized aluminum. Approximately 0.050" in thickness. Does not have a beveled perimeter edge. Countersunk holes...

Presently-- I have 5 vintage Peavey gutiars & Basses--- every one is BONE STOCK with ZERO "dicking with" --- they dont REQUIRE any ;) number 6 came "pre-modded" with active bartolini's and yummy bits-- so -- I HAD to take it that way ;) lol

I saw a nasty hillbilly band east of hear a few years ago. The only one that was good was a guy playing a Peavey T60 and he went to a T30 for the rest of the show. That goofy looking kid was smoking on it. I heard of them but found out that day. I asked that guy questions and I wanted one that day.
