German electronics manufacturer, Siemens, is still around but has not made vacuum tubes in decades. Typical current NOS vacuum tube scenario: Scarcity = Pricy-ness!Wow, I never even heard if these before. Pricey!

GE is in bad shape, so they may be around a while!
Opinions certainly vary on the topicRay that all depends on what division you look at. The government throws money at the rail and locomotive division in Erie Pennsylvania. Like most defense contractors they are not going any place. Lina worked for Westinghouse and or Wesco close to our house. They look bad in the real world. She was a Senior Analyst and the eagle pooped very well on them. The same is happening at GEs medical, they are covered by our swamp in Washington DC. There guys at GE are doing more installations than Seiman Medical. I have had a look at both MRI's in the 1 1/2 ton Tesla class, the most often used for basic diagnostics. I was biased against GE because they were well GE. However the pictures are clear and only one primary is needed.

How you like that lil Monoprice KP?
its 15 watts TUBE -- all tube?
thats rather beefy for a bedroom practice amp ----does it sound good?

I was thinking the same thing after watching the first video. How can a tech properly diagnose a bad amp by not checking the tubes first. But, when I watched the second video that 67plexi posted at post #22, I get now what he's ranting about. Looks like the earlier TSL's and DSL's were built with inferior motherboards, and some improper component values were used... Shame on Marshall. But, Marshall eventually acknowledge most of its screw-ups with newer revisions of the main motherboards for at least the TSL series of amps. Not sure about the DSLs. Also, towards the end of the video in post #22, the amp tech deems it necessary to perform a mod to the 16 ohm speaker-out jack. Without this mod, there's a good chance the amp can fry when disconnecting or connecting at this particular jack.Wait...I'm a bit confused. You say "Marshall Garbage" but I just watched the whole thing and the problem was clearly the tubes and to top it off the guy admits that he missed it and the original board was probably fine. How is the Marshall the 'garbage' in this scenario?
My point on this thread is most newer tube amps not brand pacific are frying mother boards. When I get a amp in for service I test the tubes first. Then voltage chart the amp next pinpoint the complaint. I can fix a point to point vintage amp fast. Most newer amps are a short run and replacement boards are obsolete now. And labor intensive not worth repair.

I buy used--- sometimes----------------
VERY USED! (and cheap)

typically "issues" are non existant--- and those that arrise are either repaired-- or the whole lot is tossed out and a replacement is searched for....
when you can score Mustangs and Marshall Valvestates in the 30-50.oo range -- why worry play the poo outta it and toss it -- find another ----
both Kustom pictured---COMBINED -- were under 200.00
use and toss when implode--- however -- it could be a LONG TIME before implosion..........
HOLY COW your RIGHT!
damn we are old---
now I am depressed.....
What are feather jackets? The colored padding?I didn't want it coming from me but you need to update them. Start by talking the dawn jackets off them. Feather jackets have been out a sweet time now.
