I got a great idea....

Why don't you, Mr. Tuners, make another trip to see your good buddy, Paul Reed Smith, and show him personally what you want to do... with sandpaper in your hand. I bet Mr. Smith vaporizes right in front of you... :flame:

Someone asked him about the frets PRS uses, and he said that if the fellow wanted to change the frets on his guitar to wider ones, that would not be "out of bounds". Thanks Paul, for permission to modify my guitar.
 
I think it might be tough to get the same shine PRS puts on the finish, no matter how hard I try. They are one of the best finishes out there.

IT was not purchased a "flip" --- so -- make it how you want --
 
If it makes you feel any better, Ray, I did the “green scotch pad treatment” to the neck of my Les Paul Custom. That ain’t no cheap git-fiddle, either!
 
OK, thanks fellas. I will use some wet-dry sand paper at about 600-800 grit and smile while doing it.
 
Im going the scotchbrite route --- plan to give it a shot this evening ----

with a neck through ----where do you STOP!?!?!?

In the area you play it and make a nice shape at the ends because you will be able to see the difference
 
WELL---- I went all SCOTCH on its arse -- and I liked this Soloist before i did it --- now -- I have a problem-- the neck is TO FOOGIN FAST!!!!!!!!!!!! damn its HIGH SPEED ON ICE fast


I now have moved the Jackson to "LOVE" -- keeper status--- wow slick as -- well REEL SNOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not pull the trigger yet! Is that stuff for salt and fresh water?
 
visually Smitty-- hard to tell the light finish -- has to be held in the light just right and the camera isnt catching it worth a crap---
