Katana Revisited...

Why couldn't you use any power supply/transformer (or whatever it was) in a Silkyn??? Interior space limitations??? Isn't it a tube amplifier???

They are sure selling high...

Silkyn SUPER 50 Tube Amp with NO GRAPHICS, includes footswitch | eBay
that amp has been listed or re-listed for several years now if I recall.

The high B+, bias tap and the 10-12v for the relays made the Silkyn PT hard to buy off the shelf replacement, if I recall.

Damn I have a lot of those "if I recall" moments these days.
and my hearing is damaged too; decades ago power tools and just didnt realize; router especially.

I always wore ear protection shooting though.
I shudder every time I see the Terminator 2 scene: someone is firing a .45 ACP, I think, in an elevator. Holy crap.

In shootout, you never hear the shots...

Okay, couldn't resist. Pulled the trigger this morning...

Will report back in a week or so when it gets here.

You’re killin’ me, man!

How do you expect me to shamelessly appropriate your amp ideas if you keep changing?

First the Rectoverb 25, now this?

Ahh well...I’ll await your review!

Haha, sorry man. This is just one of those itches that needed scratchin' - I had a buddy back in the late '80's that played one of the original 100-watt heads and it was just a magnificent tone that stuck with me all these years. My Mesas are not going anywhere, the Mark 5 is the tone I have been looking for my whole life, but this does something just different enough from either of them that I kinda had to have it.

Very nice acquisition!!!

Well, if your review is favorable, I may have to set my sights on this one.

If I may make a request, while I am sure you’ll be evaluating all the crunch-tasticness of the distortion, please do a good, no-kidding test of the cleans, too.

Pretty please!

Cleans? What are these "cleans" you speak of?

I'm relatively sure I will see how it sounds clean just cos, but honestly if I wanted killer cleans I'd be looking elsewhere. And my Mark has some of the best cleans I have ever played through in the green channel.

Oooooohhhh, but there’s something in it for you if you check out the cleans for me!

That’s right: there’s a little kickback.

Since I like you and you seem like a nice guy...

I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do.

See that little bit of text in the lower right of all these posts?

Yeah...that’s it...the one that says, ”Like.”

Well, if you check out the cleans for me I’ll click on that little word that says, “Like.”

Yup, just for you, man...

You know what you gotta do!

I'm pretty sure I have a few db of high-end attenuation in my hearing. Always maxing out the treble when I listen to music...
But I attribute it just to listening to and playing music too loud for too many years. Overall my hearing is good for my age, thankfully.

That last video really got me excited about the arrival of the Marshall. Looks like early next week.

Can't wait for a report and demo!

I also suffer from damage due to concerts. I walked away from a Ted Nugent concert completely deaf for about 2 hours nothing at all but loud ringing.
stood right in front of the left stack by the stage! Finally got full hearing back with no ringing in about 3 days. Similar situation at a KISS concert
but not quite as bad...

So, today was supposed to be new Marshall day...except when the package arrived it had apparently been crushed somehow. It was so badly smashed I refused the delivery and didn't even take a look but you could hear shattered glass crunching around in there. Of course the delivery guy was like "it wasn't me" but I guess where and how it happened doesn't matter, the mess is on its was back to the shipper, a claim is in and the retailer notified, so I am just waiting for confirmation of what's next - when a replacement will ship. Bummer but not the end of the world I guess. Stay tuned for when the replacement arrives.

Oh, and the nimrod couldn't understand why there would be broken glass in an amplifer. When I told him it was broken vacuum tubes he stared at me blanky - I am pretty sure he doesn't have a clue what a tube is.

sorry to hear, glad you were there to refuse it.
Mebbe they sent the wrong product altogether,

Nah, it was clearly labeled and the box was just smashed. They didn't put the box in a larger box with some sort of cushion so I told them I need them to for the replacement. Waiting for an update now.

Frickin Millennials...

Congrats on your quest for a Mini Jubilee. I think the Jubilee's were Marshall's first entry of adding more clipping or distortion with LEDs.
