So, is anyone here under threat by Florence?

I may catch a bit of an outer rain band and a bit of wind, but is anyone under serious threat?

Good to hear, Johnny.

I really fear for the coastal areas from Virginia down to Georgia.

Things will get ugly even quite a ways inland.

Well------its out there--- and still could go -- anywhere along the east coast----

I would like to see it go back out to sea!!!!!!!and DIE---

Thoughts and prayers to those in NC and SC, Georgia and all points in the path-- Kentucky -- Ohio, Pen. all are going to see effects from this thing

Got a couple cousins living near Charleston. Projected path right now has them big wind and 2-4” of rain. As long as it doesn’t veer north too much.

Edit: that should have said Charlotte.

Military bases are moving aircraft to Ohio and other points, ships sent to sea.
Be safe and smart all in harms way; this is gonna be a big one and a bad one if it stalls like predicted.
Like Harvey did in Texas last year.

Seems like North Carolina is in some kind of Hurricane Alley; but there has been plenty around for the rest of us too.

Watching the coverage reminds me of going through Sandy. We were ok, BIG trees blocked the street one house away from us in both directions, took down the power lines another came down in the lot behind us.

The power was out for like 12 days I think, even after the lines on our street were repaired.
We finally got a small Gennie within the last few days. Big gas and food shortages too.

But, no one was hurt and we suffered only minor damage - a few tabs of shingle came off my shed roof.

It’s actually pretty calm here...and sunny with wispy clouds.

But, from looking at the satellite imagery, these wispy clouds are probably getting sucked into Florence a few hundred miles south of me, and which is currently devastating North and South Carolina.

It’s an odd, almost eerie feeling to think of it like that.
