So, this is the beginning of our first snowfall. This is a shot outside my bedroom window.

We're only forecast for about 3 inches.

I'm very much a four seasons type of guy, so I'm actually enjoying the snow. A little later on I'll get a bit of cardio activity when I shovel it.

Yes, I still shovel!

Oh I shovel it too!!! BUWAHAHHAAAAAA

--er wait---

we are getting a temp tonight BELOW 40!!!! could be near freezing!!!!!!!!! --- I am going to have to wear PANTS---and SLEEVES ---- ugh I hate winter

Snow! I wish. Here in London, when I was a kid we had snow up to my armpits for weeks at a time. No longer. Most winters we don't even see any snow - maybe a day of slush. Even the Swiss Alps, normally metres deep in the stuff are still green. Action on CO2 is more desperately needed than ever.

20170106_082301.jpg we been dry and cold but expecting snow, freezing rain and such the next few days.this was from yesturday out on my walk at 8.23 AM

I don't like the freezing rain, at all.

But, I enjoy a nice snowfall. Now, I can't say I enjoy heavy blizzards. But, like I said, I do like experiencing all four seasons.

We've had a couple of snow-like events so far this winter. But I only had to shovel once so far.

Personally I despise snow, ice, and freezing cold weather. I left the reservation in S. Dakota and came to Texas. Here at least it's usually warmer. But last night it was 18 outside and 51 inside. My little crackerbox house has no central heat. I have two space heaters going full out and that's the most I can hope for at night when it gets cold.

Woke up this morning (another year older) and still cold like I was on the rez. It ain't snowing but it's freaking cold to me!
Ok, pitty party over. Y'all enjoy your snow. ....

If only you worked in Centigrade... 18 is comfortably warm. Just keep heading south is my advice. EL Salvador is a comfy 30ish (Centigrade) all year. But seriously, you are paying the penalty for living too far from an ocean. Here in England we go between chilly and a bit too warm. The sea is a great leveller.

Georgia is a great place to live except during a winter weather event.
I was in a very crowded grocery store the other night getting supplies for milk sandwiches I guess. Saw a man with one of those small buggies in line with the essentials. The top was full of beer and the bottom had an 8 pack of toilet paper. That's it, however he was in line at the only register that sold smokes.

Heat is what kills me. I've spent months in southern states like Mississippi.

The heat and humidity just destroy me! A moderate to cool temperate climate is my ideal comfort zone.

BTW, it's snowing a little more heavily, now!

Just a bit past noon here and got the interior up to a blistering 60 degrees! Wheeeeeeeee! I'd better switch to iced tea and put the coffee down huh?

Well I am south and a lot closer to the Gulf Of Backwards and it got down too 24 the Ice on the carport was just now melting
And yeah down here the closer the coast the milder the winters Don But you have tropical storms Hurricanes and Tornadoes .

We get the occasional hurricane, and believe it or not central England has almost the highest incidence of tornadoes per square mile in the world (no, I don't know how they work that out), but we don't have the hundreds of miles of prairie they need to build up a decent head of steam.

Our weather is interesting - we sit at the junction of four air masses, all fighting for control. Atlantic, Arctic, Siberian and Sahara. Depending on where the jet stream is at the moment, any one of these can dominate. We can get four seasons in a day.

You need to be here in London.

Believe it or not, I have a rough sense of what you mean!

I spent a couple weeks in Northern Ireland several years back during mid-summer and I've also spent a couple days in England in the Suffolk area in late November. It felt like...well...home...in a weird, primal sort of way!

I know that's not nearly a sizable enough sampling to get a full sense of the climate in your region. Suffice it to say, nothing felt uncomfortable!

Weather or culture - nobody ever really feels uncomfortable here. We have something from everywhere, and we don't let it remain foreign. If it is OK, we embrace it.

Full tilt winter here for the past 3 weeks. Down to -21°C tonight.
We received 195 cm of snow up to now for the season. I'm just back from my day of snowboard patrol on the slopes. Pooped. That cold sucks your energy.

polar opposite---- I can happily muck about the yard--- building critter pens and doing chores all day ---in august--- with 98 degree temps and 90% humidity-----my arthritis ---bones and joints all work and lubricate MUCH better with sweat ;)
---that and I am working on acclimating to Hell --- ;)
