I need to get my Silkyn repaired!
I just last week put a pair of Tung Sol 6L6GC STR power tubes in and re-biased, at 73/68% I think it was (my voltage across each side of the OT is not exactly the same. They are made for higher plate voltages. Caught a 10% discount email from Tube Depot.
With the O-netics replacement PT I have exactly the same plate voltages as with the original.
It is sounding really good on the clean channel, more chimey and articulate than the stock Sovteks, which are ok just not great.
I have not done the grit channel mods yet and the stock overdrive is clipped a bit too square waved / large grains grainy, almost Fuzz-like, even at low settings (but not full on fuzz).
Its good for a bit of gain, but not so much for the ACDC crunch.
Dano Daddy 'O on the clean channel gets my inner Aussie rocking.
The on board reverb is working real well now too with the lower value cathode resistor mod and a fresh 12at-7 at the reverb driver V3, I think it is.
its about all I been doing for the last week, and working on The Rover.
Was meaning to add a post in The Muse I Adorn but didnt snap a pic.
