Gibson VS Gretsch

I really enjoy my Gretsch G5135 Corvette.
Kind of SG ish, but has it's own look & sound.

I watched that video before in the OP. I must say that I liked the Gretsch better and it sounded like it had more clarity. I also like the ebony fret board and the whole look of the guitar. The controls are unique compared to other guitars but I think they are very functional. Gretsch all the way!

I'm finding that I like the Gretsch copy that I made to be my favorite guitar these days. For the same reasons that the Gretsch sounded nicer on stuff in the video. It has great cleans, and even when running hot with some gain into a Hiwatt with a Prince of Tone, JJ Rocket Archer, and a delay pedal, it has a clarity I don't get out of my Gibsons. As a die-hard Gibson fan, I never thought I'd be saying that. My Billy-Bo also has the stock Japanese made "High Sensitivity" Filtertrons in it, not T.V. Jones pickups. I think that they measured around 5.8 Ohms, but have no significant volume change when switching between that guitar and a Gibson.

PErhaps you should send it to me for a battery of swamptasticall testing and rigorous workouts?

Yeah, fer serious...

SG John can’t just go making statements like that without some peer review.

So, John, send it to me in Maryland so @chilipeppermaniac and I can give it a thorough Mid-Atlantic review. We’ll forward it down to @eSGEe in Florida when we’re done. He’ll give it the south eastern seaboard evaluation.

I mean, c’mon man...this is serious enough to require review by the full East Coast Chapter of TTR!
