I don't know why people had a problem with baked maple. This was discussed to length elsewhere and a couple guitar builders chimed in and said they actually charged more for the baked maple over rosewood. I had a couple baked maple Gibson's. 2014? And really didn't make a difference and were very nice guitars actually! Both baked maple clearance guitars. $550 each for a 60's & 70's Tribute!
The MM is baked maple also...gave it to my son in law & he covets that thing! He wanted a Strat and I was going to swap him a Strat for it back but he said no way he is getting rid of it!
I don't know the left side of my computer screen from the right side evidently. The guitar on the right is the one I had. If I had the guitar on the left I'd still have it too
Me too!
I suspect the board on one of my AXL builds is baked maple and not rosewood.
Or, it is a cut that has much more closed grain and runs lighter / golder - exactly like RobV post above.
Fine by me either way.
