My Prince (pedal)

RVA

Ambassador
Now that I spent some time playing with this device, I must say, I am very pleased. Here are some tones if you care to listen. There is nothing enhancing the OD (no boost, pushed tubes or stacked OD). I played from the burstbucker 2 bridge pup of my '61 LP Reissue. These tones are on the heavier side of what gge pedal can do. It also does some warm slightly dirty blues stuff and can make a decent clean boost.

I wish I had the skill to do a proper demo, but this will have to suffice!

My Prince

Plenty bright, and driven! A fine job of a scratch build there! Well done sir!
I’m betting that that would play nice in my rig.
Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Very Tweedy.... What were your settings on the pedal and amp?
Yes, I guess so.

Pedal gain was at 8-10 for all clips. Sometimes both diodes were on, then only the is1587, then onlt the other set (MA xxx ). Amp was tne clean channel of my JVM with master volume at 5 and channel at 3 through the Weber attenuator. I had bass at 6, mid at 4 and treble at 6, but the Weber line out has a tone control, so who knows on that front!

Thank you for the kind words. I am still amazed that it is a real working pedal, and rather proud since it was a first attempt.

Keep it up sir! My first pedal is still working! Once you get the kinks worked out, it’s very fun, and rewarding.
I have been happy to give a few builds out as gifts, and as far as I know, they’re all still working.
Good times are to be had with the smell of solder flowing!

Funny, I do like the smell of solder fumes. I am trying to cut down though.

A member here gas my true first pedal. I kept the one with the enclosure my paralegal painted. Maybe he will chime in with an honest review

WELL DONE !!!! DAMN WELL DONE!

That is my REVIEW of BOTH PEDALS!!!!--- as I am the Member in question for post #8. (Im always "questionable---or being questioned--damn cops) anyway ---

the Pedal RVA sent was his original--- his first Born.... Number 1 Son----

and it is AWESOME--- great tone --- lots of options AND --- it doesnt break up -- get fuzzy or act up in any way --

gives USABLE distortion and grit throughout the knob range --- many pedals I try (lets be honest typically CHEAP pedals) get RETARDED distortion at level 2 --- so IMHO since I am not DJENTing all day -- 80% of those pedals abilities are wasted ----

this pedal has tones I can use ALL over the place and TBTH I have yet to dial in a bad one--- though I have not researched and splunked in all the dark corners of said device---

I will have to give it a thorough rogering (and rub my junk on it) this week --- ;)

I will add this to my list to listen at home.
These recent pedal threads almost got me to build a vero board Tremolo; i have most of the parts but probably not all.
i have the itch again, but the scratching my be in the form of a scratch 6G2 brownface Princeton build in the fall, with said trem circuit.

In the meantime i ordered the Joyo tremolo pedal for $17. shipped.

meantime I decided to REALLY put the pedal to the metal----- hooked the RVA special up to the BASS RIG!!!! --- running a Peavey t-45---pedal-- Hartke B600 combo---- and WOWZERS---

typically I HATE distortion or gain on my bass signal (it spreads out and dilutes the BOOM) but this--- this is nice --- I have a little "hair" around the boom --- but dont lose the force ------ of the push through the hair---- (is that enough innuendo for all of you????I can push it harder if you like?? I can push it real good??? ) buwahahahahahaha
