The New Trans-Am...

Has anyone heard of the return of the Trans-Am. There's no Pontiac anymore but I heard Buick is making them. They are supposed to be super-fast...faster than the one in "Smokey And The Bandit".

It's supposed to be made by Buick from what I heard once it reaches production out to the public.

A lot of people don’t seem to remember that Buick had a muscle car contender back in the day...the Buick Gran Sport GSX.

It shared the same platform as the Chevelle, 442, and GTO.

Since Pontiac is out of the picture, I say “rock on” with the Buick Trans Am!

Think Shelby Mustang or Saleen Mustang. Would you rather have a factory line assembler put your car together or have a team of top notch mechanics familiar with racing putting your car together? It's great that Dodge was able to do this all in house, but it's nice to see GM in the game still. I'd like to see Mopar bring back a retro Cuda.

Those things are suppose to be fast. 2 options I think...something like 700 HP or 1000 HP. They actually bought the "Trans Am" brand. Which has always been a GM Camaro/Trans Am crossbreed. I have had 3 T/A's so far. 1977 & 1984 & my current 1997 LT1 & I have had a 78' RS Camarao & a 1979 Z-28 & built an 87' Iroc Z for my son's 18 B-day

From what I understand Blackie some guys bought the Pontiac name from GM. They are the owners of these newer higher tech Trans Ams. They are the owners and builders.

Thanks for the update. I just heard rumour of Buick making them but that looks like it changed.
