New Attenuator Day. Bought the Weber Mass III. Built a speaker cable today and fired her up in the DSL 40. First time I EVER turned an amp to 10  Of course with the attenuator inline. :D I could definitely hear a difference in the amp on the red channel. Not sure if I would classify it as "better", but certainly a different sonic presence and I do like it.

Hey, Don...I found the tone at '10' wasn't all that, at least for me. I found a lower volume setting that really had a lot of character...literally around three or four and then playing with the tone controls on the Weber.

Yeah, the turning it to 10 was just something I HAD to do :ROFLMAO: I reduced it to about the 2 o’clock position and played with the tone controls on the Weber. They certainly do a lot of shaping. I still have a ways to go to find a setting(s) I will stick with.

It doesn’t really do much for the clean channel, so I’m toying with the idea of modifying the Weber footswitch so that it can switch the attenuator in AND switch the amp channel to the red side with just one floor switch (DPST).

Meanwhile I’m spending time this weekend into learning how to setup (program) my Boss GT-1000. It’s got storage for 500 patches, of which I only plan on configuring 2 banks of 5 each, 1 bank for Strats, 1 bank for HBs (SG, LP, PRS). There’s quite a few good YouTube’s on setting it up. There’s about 5 bazillion options to work with. (n)
