Ever been...content?

I'm mostly content in life.
I sometimes worry about my family and our future / finances, etc, my kids future, old age, etc.
But my guitar journey has just begun; its the wild west meets the Matrix, Men in Black, Timothy Leary and the musicians in the bar in Star Wars.

Actually I am finding some core tones I like with P90's through Fender Tweed circuits pushed with transparent Klon like OD and a little reverb that I am calling one of MY tones. Funny how much Neil Young sounds like me.
:pound-hand::pound-hand::pound-hand:

But thats only Thurday's spot in the old man's pill box; I have the rest of the week to fill out.

You have excellent taste! I love P90s through my Hot Rod Deluxe. I leave my Klon on most always.
I have the same thoughts on the Neil Young tone.

Playing live was my cure for tone chasing/gadget acquisition syndrome. I find I get sharper in 90 minutes of live performances than 4 hours of practice.

People have asked me how I get my tone. I am always puzzled by that question.

A stock Gibson and a Marshall is all I have!!!

Maybe its how I EQ things???

I don't have a Marshall but as an experiment I set my Fender Blues Junior close to your's (ie above photo) and ya know what ... I like it!!! :)
I've never had the gain set so high and the volume so low, thanks, I'll muck about with this area.

The volume is set very low because we were running line out...but I'm happy its giving you a good tone!!!!

I may be there, and I say that because . . . I went to GC last night to get a new case for my '59 Melody Maker. Not a reissue but the real thing.
While I was there I saw a BOSS Katana 50 used for $169. I thought about it for about 15 minutes, played it for a bit . . . thought to my self HELL for the price of 1-2 pedals I can get an Amp and 50 pedals.

The things is though, it makes all the amps sounds my Mesa Mini has, and the only pedal I use all most all the time is my BOSS Fender Reverb. So I walked away from it.

NOW . . . should any of my Bro's here want me to pick it up for you, just let me know Now extra cost to you just the price and shipping.

I gotta say that at the moment I am content. Next week . . . well we will see.

Good for you!!!! We played a few amps at S.A. but at the end of the day, sometimes the most basic setup has the best tone and that tone won't get better with more expensive gear.

When I showed up at our first rehearsal - with my 3 amps - I was not expecting everyone to choose the noisy old 1997 Marshall Valvestate VS265.

Still amazes me that I still have it.
