Check for a gas leak. I felt like that and my car needed a new exhaust system. Falling asleep at the wheel was not the problem. Waking up was difficult.

I've never been really "discontented" with any of my instruments.
It did take me a lot of effort to figure out a Stratocaster after having played exclusively Gibson-scale, humbucker guitars up to that point. But, a Strat is a league of its own. Right now, I'm quite pleased with it.
My Washburn and Jackson are, more or less, modding platforms. So, I don't include them. I use them to try new stuff.
My issue is that I like "all the tonez." I don't chase tones from the standpoint of trying to endlessly make my guitars replicate a sound. I'm happy with each guitar, but if I hear a new sound and I know my current lineup won't do it, I'll try to figure out how to get there. I'm not a "one-tone guy".
Each guitar produces a tone I like. But, that doesn't mean they produce ALL the tones I like!
What it took for me, more than anything, was putting an end to tone chasing. I don't want anyone else's sound, so I no longer want to try to replicate things that I hear.
Kind of the reason I stopped fighting with Strats and Teles - I like the way they sound when other people play them but no matter what I do I can't get them to produce a sound I like in my hands.
If I'm ever content as far as guitars go, I think half the fun will be gone. I guess I'll keep on swapping stuff for as long as I can play. But that doesn't mean I'm not content when it comes to certain guitars. My Lester goldtop and Derek Trucks SG are damn near perfect in my very personal book. But I will always be on the prowl for other things. My GAS is here to stay I'm afraid.

Exactly where I am now..
I love three guitars. My black Jap Les Paul, my white Strat and my Martin D28. The others I really like because they fill a need, my lap steel guitar, the Fender resonator. They are not hang out and just play something. They are kind of specialized, the two other Les Paul's are in a weird tuning and fit the ticket when I need to do work for the studio. A few of the Stratocasters are voiced different with pickups and tuning. I have some weird guitars, a Mandolin and a banjo that are not necessarily but I seem to need them or the idea of them. I have 5 or 6 amps and a small PA system, a laptop is needed to operate the PA thing and to get the most out of my Mustang II amp. Say all that BLEEPBLEEPBLEEPBLEEP real fast. It is living in a mess and more square feet is needed.

I'm content. I own more guitars than I need. I don't play any of them as often as I should and I'm not gassing for anything. What little spare time I have, I have been putting into my car by fixing crap that has been being neglected. I did go to Guitar Center today, but was just there picking up a cable for my grandson's guitar, the broken curb side reject that I nursed back to health and presented to him.
I have 10 guitars, 4 amps, a few pedals and no room to display them all. I did play the PRS for a while this past weekend in between calls.Shoot, Grant!!! I would have given you a couple if I knew you were in need!!!!
