So, after wire brushing, wet sanding, priming, and spray painting - here is what it looks like (a bit better I think).

Once the caps come in for the one value I didn't have in stock I can put it back together with a new power cord, install it back into the Leslie cab, and hopefully have a fully functional Leslie cab...
 
Wow this is a crazy set up. I must have missed it, what was the final decision? Are you restoring it or making a tube amp out of it?

Ya, it only had one ground point so it was fairly easy. When a chassis has a finish I tend to remove the finish at the ground points, solder/tin the area, and then solder the lug/bolt/etc to the chassis as well.

I have the same Leslie rotor set up in my 'unfinished project' pile. I used the speaker in a portable 2×8cab I built a couple of years back but haven't finished me rotary speaker project.

I have too many projects...

Anyhow, I can't wait for you to hear this beast and hear your thoughts on it.
 
Cool deal on the Leslie project. They've just got a vibe that circuitry can't really capture fully (at least I don't think so). I'm working on this accordion project slowly but surely type thing. At the moment I'm waiting for the crossbar that holds the spinning thingy to dry. It had some rust on it, so, while it was a part I wire brushed, sanded, and painted it. Gotta go get some insulation to replace the old stuff I tore off the back of the speaker and thru away. Clean the cabinet inside one more time. Should be able to button it up after that - I think anyways. I've started on the power amp and tone cab, mostly cleaning at the moment and a little testing. I'm hoping to find a local accordion player to jam on it a bit when it's done - see what happens...

Update...
The motor/mount setup that spins the thingy had a little rust on it, so I removed that to do some touch up and painting on it.

So, started cleaning up the tone cab and found the reverb tank look'n like this. As much as I dig green, I'm pretty sure this reverb tank isn't supposed to have green highlights. So, will be paying a little extra attention on this...

Here's a closer look at what plugs into the accordion itself or at least I assume it is/does. I've never owned, played, or worked on anything accordion before:

P.S. that's a broken stomp box switch that goes to the sustain foot switch. Which reminds me; I've got to get off my butt an order a couple...
 
I think the patina on the tank is fine as long as it is not alive.
I wouldnt spend much time on it until you confirm it works and / or works well enough.

the accordian has a printer port?

This is just one funky piece of gear.

You know, the wife said the same thing about the reverb tank - that's two - I guess I'll run with patina.

The amplifier cab is working as is, but stuff is pretty old. For now I will do mild cleaning/touch-ups while looking more into the tone cab.
The tone cab 'seems' to be working as far as I can test it wise, but it does have a sound coming from the treble control on one channel that almost seems like oscillation that I have to check into. I'm cleaning up the swell pedal at the moment. Using a toggle switch to test the sustain while waiting on a replacement push button switch. I got the tone cab all cleaned up today. Hopefully next week I can start doing some more thorough testing on things.

That big ole cable looks like a cable to a sub. I say that because many years ago I worked for a place that made cables for many different things including subs...
 
Putting the Leslie cab back together. Hopefully it looks a bit better with things touched up a bit.

Have to do some touch ups inside the cab. The braces behind the material covering the sound holes are pulling loose. Once that down I can button the Leslie up and call it done.

Update...

Braces tightened up (contact cement and very small finishing nails) and everything is in (back still off as I've sprayed the finish washers black).

Getting closer. Next - time to start going thru the amp cab and tone cab electronics a bit more now they are all cleaned up for the most part and the leslie is pretty much done short of putting the back on...

Working on the amp cab section now. Got the tranny ripped off and touched up. Took the power transistors off and tested them. Going thru the wiring. The chassis is just plain ugly and will most likely end up getting painted. No saving the Wheat-Tina on it...
