Been thinking of some covers to do in a "Motorhead Style" for this possible Motorhead Tribute project. In my head, I heard Thin Lizzy's "Whiskey In The Jar" dropped down to C# and featuring pounding guitars - far heavier than Metallica ever dreamed of - and with a Lemmy-esque growl and phrasing.

Thoughts????

This may sound a little strange but I’ve always thought a speeded up, heavy guitar version of Knocking on Heaven’s Door would sound pretty good. I never thought of a Lemmy style vocal but that might just make it even better.

That's a great idea too!!!!!

The Barney theme song? --- o.k. here me out--- really think it through --- FEEEEEL it---

it could work!

Ok, so this is speeded up and the key has been dropped to C# and I am tuned to Eb, so it's a really BIG sound. So, this is the 400 year old Irish folk song "Whiskey IN The Jar" which has been in the public domain now for so long you don't even have to license a copy as long as you use an original arrangement.

A little Easter Egg in store for you...the idea behind this song was what would it sound like if Motorhead covered it. I looked at Louie-Louie and got some ideas and I present them to you here for fun.

I imitate Lemmy's vocals on the last verse as a tribute. There's also a little tidbit for you at the very end of the song... :)

Equipment Used: 2016 Gibson Les Paul - Totally Stock - with 498T - Blackstar ID-Core 100 - Emulated Line Out

The tone is absolutely gargantuan. I intentionally left the mix a little 'guitar dominant'

Not yet finished, but I invite your opinions on it...
