Current Rigs:

I've been flogging this one tonight...been doing fall clean up, and trussrod adjustment. Not done yet, but the action is pretty well set, and intonation is on the money.

Nice simple set up...I need to fix my 90degree cable for the living room.
The word "elegant" comes to mind when I see that guitar. Nice job.

Is that heaven? I don't see any clouds.

cobwebs but just between my ears...

Well ... doesn't seem to be a market for that amp around where I live, so it stays. I tried it through one of two homemade Celestion Seventy/80 12" ported cabs, and it sounds much better than with the Eminence HD cab. Who would have thought ?

You are the one who gave me the idea to get the Kustom. You posted, I bought. I hooked it up to the cab from my fried Peavey combo. The fridge has about a case of beer in it BUT it is about 4 years old, which is when I quit drinking.

Gball! How are you man? That's a nice little setup you got there! What are the "cleans" like on a Mesa Boogie setup? I have a sound in my head that's still quite raucous... Good to see you around, anyway!

Hey Alex. Mark 5 cleans are very "American" in nature, meaning they basically sound like a Fender. There are two clean modes, "clean" and "fat" and of the two the clean mode is the more Fendery/blackface-style clean. Fat has a beefier overall feel and the midrange scoop is in a different place. Of course with the Boogie you get a lot more versatility than most Fenders because there is a lot more gain on tap even in the clean modes plus you can switch in the EQ.

The Crunch mode out-Marshalls Marshall, and all three Mark modes on the red channel are pure Mesa flamethrower. Then add in the CabClone (which I use far more than I ever expected) and I couldn't be happier. There are sounds that work great with all my guitars and cover all the bases I need to. Really cannot say enough good things about this amp.

OK cool. I really like clean tones. If I need dirt, I use a pedal or turn the volume up so much that the tubes break up the tone.
That's one thing I really like about the little Ibanez TSA5. The cleans are chimey and give that Fender Champ vibe until you hit the tube screamer switch, or dime the tone knob, and then all hell breaks loose.

Still setting up got the PA dialed in last night 3500 watts RMS into a 8 ohm load. I have till 3:00PM to finish the band shows up.
Now wire in my guitar rig and the keyboards, And the microphones.DW Collectors 001.JPG

Me too, there was two and the bride vehemently would have nothing to do with it, as well as the AC30 Ice Cream Birthday cake so I enlisted my young son to snap it, there were 2 similar ones while the Ice cream cake I went to carvel w/ a good pic of an AC30 and low n behold, thou I've had to do it all myself, I got an AC30 Birthday cake from Carvel .. have a look if you don't recall ..... as it was pretty cool to me as I was chastised for 4 years before, on the 5th
I again took the bull by the horns ...

AC30, That VOX AC-15 is sweet. The Marshall in my photo has a AC15 front end EF86 Volume and 7 way treble switch ( Vox meets Dumble )
I started out running 3 amps at the end of practice I only used the EF86 18 Watt amp and only played the 1965 SG Standard.

I've built pretty much the exact amp, w/ a few " detours ", of course to suit tastes. What's really funny is that I play, among many others, a 1965 SG Standard thru it too .... talk about a parallel universe across coasts!
