The Official "On the road" thread

The picture above was a long road trip with some buddies started in the desert and ended up at a ski resort.

Most days I walk to work. I have to walk up a rather long and steep hill to get there, and on clear days the view is pretty nice. This pic was taken about a month ago, while the weather was really nice. You can see most of the valley where I live, but my house is outside the picture to the left.

I like twisty roads too. This is Mt. Emma Road. This is the road I named my car after, Emma. This was my test coarse after doing any mods to the car...

It’s kinda funny how English speakers think of their cars as female things. You name them after women and call them “baby”, “honey”...

We here feel this differently. Sedans and hatchbacks are male, we bond to them as to friends or brothers. Pickups are female, though.

Oh and when you’re on a road trip with a guitar, don’t leave it in the car

100% agree! We live in an area with a VERY low crime rate BUT I never leave any guitar in my car.
Only tonight coming home from music class I drove past the shopping centre and home, unloaded my Acoustic Taylor then drove back to the shops for a few things.

Not all English speakers. I have never felt any desire to call a metal transport system by a name of felt a gender bias.
I've had cars and bikes that are special but still no deep affection felt.
