...how long until it's another completely useless site with no free content to learn guitar or anything else for that matter?

I just looked up an old cartoon for reference to a quote I was going to post...and if I wanted to watch a 14 minute Looney Tunes episode it was going to cost me $1.99...I also noticed full length movies for rental...

It's not a big deal to me if the site starts hosting some paid content, but it scares me that it will be the beginning of the end of a place for all of us to post videos for free...

I wouldn't pay extra because I'm a cheapskate! I never noticed on YouTube about having to pay extra to watch an extended version of a video. I've seen stuff like this video has been disabled by the owner or this video is not available in your country. I guess the time is coming soon when we will have to pay, but I thought all the advertising takes care of that.

What about the old number two - dailymotion?

BTW: YT never was free. We paid with our personal data which is of large value for the advertizing industry, and we paid by suffering from ads.

I'm not against people getting paid for intellectual property. Hell, I pay for Hulu and WWE.

Paying for intellectual property is ok. But if i pay cash i would like to have a guarantee that my personal data is not used in any way. Otherwise i would pay twice. And who wants to pay twice for the same thing?

I'm not against it either...I just hope YouTube still keeps up with the free content and allows people to continue to post.

My fear is it will become a Netflix pay per view...
