Your Version Of Your Favorite Songs:

@guitarweasel Wow, great band bro.

Read your profile, grew up in the Chicagoland area, went to school in your neck of the woods. Carbondale.

Your band is one of my earliest musical memories! I hope my forum bros. Can appreciate me derailing, but have to give respect for one of The Boyz from Illinoize.

Thanks for the time bro, will be checking all your posts for your playing.
Thanks for rockin my young face off, and the great parties you all threw.

Peace

@Robert Herndon I'll second that.

You got my vote! Thanks for sharing.

Way musical bro.

Thank you!!! I actually did a first version on a Stratocaster, and I really tried to cop Hendrix tone and phrasings, even borrowing a Dun;lop Wah for the recording, and Sound Cloud pulled it because it was so close to the original version (so the email said) that they believed it was sampled!!!!

Wow, never heard of such nonsense.

I guess that's one way to tell if you're on the right track?

Either way, top shelf brotha.

This is a very cool song and one that captivated me when I heard it as a child. On this home recording, you will hear 3 of my guitars.

1. My 2016 Gibson Les Paul on Rhythm
2. 1987 Strat on tremolo dive and 'clean' chorus parts
3. Von Herndon double neck on outro Shiraz scale section

The "keyboard" sections were created by stacking guitars with chorus, flangers and octaver effects.

The tremolo dive at 2:22 was performed on my 1987 Squirecaster and pitch was dropped until the strings rattled against the pickups, then the correct note position was fretted (while the strings were slack) and the note was brought back to pitch at the chord change, followed by 8, rapid tremolo undulations.

This is one of my all time favorites...
