Wow!

I wonder how much that has to do with the people moving there in droves in order to attempt to escape the crazy rising costs of living everywhere else?

We used to have really inexpensive electricity around here too, with all the hydropower the Columbia River makes....but then, all the big tech companies found out, and said "wow, we could build massive datacenters there and take advantage of all that cheap power since our facilities will use a ton of it - so much, in fact, they will require their own substations - but we'll do it anyway!!"

Name a big tech company, we've probably got a facility.

I worked at one of them for years, rhymes with Macrohard.

I no longer want anything to do with them and I resent what they've turned my village into lol

.....and our power rates have been climbing, sometimes pretty steeply, ever since.
