No. I did a similar drive in the French Alps between Nice and Grenoble, trying to get to Villard de Lans. I had no idea was I was in for. Fortunately, I had a standard transmission in the rental car. And, I was still feeling the effects of the two bottles of Champagne I killed on the flight. Otherwise, I would have ended up parking and waiting to get towed, then taking the long way around through Marseilles.
