I was having this argument with my bandmates, one of them stating that Converse Chuck Taylors weren't worn outside basketball courts, boxing gyms and such until the late 70s.

I proved him wrong by showing him the cover of Creedence's Willy and the poor boys.

He bought my dinner and beer.
