Where SPUDS??

I'm still alive but not playing or building anymore.
Arthritis is so bad in my left shoulder that any movement of my left arm causes intense pain.
Have to hold it like it's in a sling with my hand resting in my lap.
Shoulder replacement is the only option that I've been offered and I'm just not too keen on that prospect.
Add to that the screwed up left hand and I'm just a mess.
Normal tasks that are taken for granted every day have become next to impossible for me now.
Opening a door, combing my hair, fastening my jeans, putting on socks, even driving a car is starting to become an issue. It sucks.
I'm only 64, way too young for this garbage.
But I can't really complain, many folks have things much worse than I do and all things considered, life is good...

Peace!

So sorry to hear this!

But, please, hang around, anyway. Your input is always valued and, hopefully, some of the content here can brighten your day.

I am right behind you in age. I will be 64 in February. I have lots of joint pain but so far it hasn't stopped me from playing.
But it's hard to say when that day will come.
I don't blame you for not wanting the surgery.
I talked to my Dr. about my knee and hip.
I might get x-rays someday but not sure what else.

Well kids.... just turned 69. Knock on wood, been fortunate that except for 4 wisdom teeth I still have all the parts the good Lord blessed me with when I was born. Mostly everything still works about as good as can be expected for an old f@rt. Some aches and pains for sure till I'm up an moving for a little while. And yeah..... thinking I'm getting a touch of arthritis in my hands. So far it hasn't affected playing, but pretty sure fingers aren't as limber as they used to be. Discovering things that even 10 years ago was easy.... now those same things I can't or shouldn't be doing anymore.

It's been stated that aging is not for the faint of heart. Truth!!! But the alternative sucks. So I just keep putting one foot in front of the other till I can't anymore.

Yeah, I try to keep a positive outlook. Some days are better than others.
Petting a dog and a cold beer always lifts ones spirits.

Not much of a beer drinker…. A few I like… but overall… yuck. I however concur on petting the pooch. That’s never a bad day.
