Lol its the "save me, im about to be short in the bank account next month" bit. I think everyone has that on a big buy. Myself? I sit and dwell on it over and over , until I find the absolute cheapest price i can. Then its a pull of the trigger and i complain for a month over " why did i do that?!?!" Then make peace lol

As far as the financial aspect if funds are short? There's always the good ol American way of fiscal responsibility: Use credit and pay 3-5x as much when you only make minimum payments

No man no credit in my life no more, once i was in £5k debt i said to myself if i ever clear this, ill never get credit card again

I have the opposite problem. My wife tries to talk me into spending money on myself. She keeps trying to sneak on my laptop to get some idea of what to get me for Christmas. I prefer to spend the bank dry on her and our friends rather than myself. Believe it, we have had actual arguments about this.
